What Is Pool Cage?

Pool cage is the Florida-specific term for a screen enclosure built over a pool area. Virtually every residential pool in Central Florida has one. The structure consists of an aluminum frame with screen mesh panels on the roof and walls, plus self-closing screen doors. Pool cages serve multiple purposes: insect control, debris reduction, UV filtering, wildlife exclusion, and compliance with Florida pool safety barrier codes. The terms “pool cage” and “screen enclosure” are used interchangeably in Florida.
