What Is Screen Spline?
Screen spline is the rubber or vinyl gasket that holds screen mesh in the aluminum frame channels of a pool enclosure.
Spline is a continuous cord of rubber or vinyl that is pressed into the channel (groove) of an aluminum screen frame, locking the screen mesh in place. Spline comes in different diameters to match different frame channel sizes. Over time, spline hardens, shrinks, and loses its grip, which is why all professional rescreening jobs include new spline on every panel. Old spline is one of the main reasons screen panels blow out during storms.
